Feature: 2022 Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 650 – Roaring retro

After an extremely effective first year, Royal Enfield is back for season 2 and theyve invited us to try out their updated Continental GT-R 650 race bike.Lovely aluminium rear-sets by Harris Performance.Timeless designVisually, the brand-new bike is identical to last years machine, with the same beautiful retro racing fairing and very little rear section. On the other hand, this years race bike has even more cornering clearance, thanks to an upgraded exhaust pipe, and the brakes have actually enhanced. I got to ride the bike for about half an hour, and while my pace is much lower than what the racers put these bikes through, I believed the tires were surprisingly excellent. The disadvantage is that you run into that 7,000-odd RPM redline incredibly quickly and this is one of the couple of bikes where I d have chosen to run a reverse, race-pattern gearshift. On the upside, the engine maintains the rock-solid reliability of the stock bike and there hasnt been a single engine problem through the entire Season 1.
